Yesterday, we had a sun shower. It’s not something you see every day, but this one was especially unusual.
It wasn’t just drizzling.
It was pouring. Really pouring.
And the sun was shining. Really shining.
It was like Mother Nature was feeling a little conflicted.
The whole thing only lasted for a few minutes, but it really made me think.
We face many joys and challenges as parents. Sometimes, the obstacles seem to outweigh the laughter.
When that happens, it’s like we’re wandering around in a downpour, without a raincoat or an umbrella. All we want to do is get inside and dry ourselves off.
Instead of feeling the raindrops on our skin…hearing them land on the pavement…and seeing how they are obstructing our view, we want to run away from them. We see the grey, and forget that there’s still light.
There might even be a rainbow out there somewhere, but we’ll never know if we don’t look for it.
That day, there was a lot of light, and it burned away the raindrops. It’s not something that happens every day.
Transformative experiences don’t either.
Please know that all the little things you are doing for your child(ren) have the power to make a very large difference. You will make it over those hurdles. No super powers are required.
Just give it some time, and open yourself up to experience many magical moments along the way.
Wishing you peace, joy, and rainbows,
